88 Years In The Making

Can you imagine rooting for a losing team for 88 years?

If you are a Braves fan and have followed them from Boston to Milwaukee to Atlanta, that's exactly what you have done. On June 5, 1923, the Braves lost to the Phillies to put their all-time record at 3084-3085.

And under .500 they remained until Sunday, when their win over the Astros put them back over .500 at 9983-9982.

This achievement is even more amazing, when you consider that the franchise was 500 games under .500 as recently as April 20, 1991. They’ve averaged 26 games over .500 each year since then.

And take one more look at the all-time record. The Braves will record both win and loss No. 10,000 this year. That’ll make them the only franchise with 10,000 of both.
