Today, the Chicago Cubs selected (meaning, added to the 40-man roster) and recalled righthanded pitcher Chris Carpenter; he'll be available in the Cubs bullpen Tuesday night.

But wait, you're saying! Chris Carpenter pitches for the Cardinals!

↵↵Right, but now he pitches for the Cubs, too.

↵↵Carpenter the Cardinal, you all know; he’s won a Cy Young.

↵↵Carpenter the Cub is a hard thrower who was the Cubs’ third round draft pick in 2008.

↵↵Just don’t try to tell them apart by their middle names. (It’s “John” for both. h/t to Harry Pavlidis for pointing that out.)
