Cubs owner Tom Ricketts gave Jim Hendry his “vote of confidence” yesterday, although not the fun kind where you get fired a week later:

↵↵“The fact is, I have 100 percent confidence in Jim,” he said. “We’re just going forward right now... I’m confident in his ability to keep us moving forward.”
↵↵The Cubs are “moving forward” only in the sense that time moves inexorably in a single direction, never backward. But Jim Hendry isn’t responsible for that, Jesus is.
