Juventus were linked with a big name in Sergio Aguero, but instead have ended up with former Napoli midfielder Michele Pazienza, who they've signed to a three-year contract. There wasn't much room for Pazienza in Napoli's midfield setup, especially after a disappointing season with the Champions League club and the Partonopei on the verge of buying Gokhan Inler, and as a result Pazienza has been linked with a move away for several months now. Juventus have won the race despite (reportedly) strong interest from clubs like Genoa.
Michele Pazienza Signs With Juventus
It’s difficult to imagine Pazienza starting in the Juventus midfield, but he should be a capable backup for Antonio Conte’s side. Juventus are still a big draw - when Pazienza was questioned about leaving Napoli and thus giving up Champions League football, he replied, “Giving up the Champions League with Napoli was not hard, I come with great enthusiasm to get in the Champions [League] with Juve.”
At least he has a positive attitude. It’s not a bad move for Juventus, but at the same time it’s not really a very exciting one.
