NASCAR RnR’s Grassroots Racing Team Update: Herron Racing takes on the Twin 15’s at Ohsweken

(Editor's Note: I still have not properly set up Brad and Jeff as author's at the site yet. It is on my to-do list for this week, so Jeff just emailed me his post race comments about last night's racing - Bob)

Jeff Todd: "Last night’s racing for the Thunderstock’s at Ohsweken Speedway was the Twin 15's.

Brad started second in the First Heat race. The track was a little slimy but he was still able to come home in third. Brad then started fourteenth in the First Feature race.

There was some pretty wild 4-wide racing going on for all of the positions in the first part of the race. Brad moved steadily up to the front and ended up in the fourth spot at the checkers. Brad said the car was pretty decent and we were both happy with the run.

There was a pretty short turn around between features so we started to prepare for the Second Feature right away. We were able to make some changes to the car in order to keep up with the track because the second Twin 15 was run after the sprint car feature and the track really slicks up by the time our race starts.

This time we start the Second Feature in fifteenth position. Brad committed to the bottom groove early and it seemed to pay dividends for us as Brad droves to a fine third place finish.

All and all it was a very good night for us as we have always struggled with these Twin 15's in the past.

So far the race season to date has shaped up far beyond our expectations. All of our hard work over the winter seems to have paid off! So far this year we have a 3rd, 4th, 5th and a 6th place finish in all of the feature races.

Part of our success this year is a good car, and a big part of it is a driver that can flat out drive and adapt to the ever changing track conditions. That’s it ‘till next week, stay tuned for video from the First Feature as it will be posted very soon. Video from the Second Feature video did not happen due to the battery running out in the GoPro camera - sorry."

Remember to follow Brad, Jeff and the rest of the Herron Racing team on Facebook.
