Nevertheless, according to a tweet from ESPN’s Buster Olney, they might be considering bringing back 80-year-old Jack McKeon, who last managed the team in 2005, as a replacement for the resigned Edwin Rodriguez.
Not one of the current Marlins was born when McKeon got his first managing job, with the 1973 Kansas City Royals. Only one man has ever managed a major league team at age 80 -- Connie Mack, whose Philadelphia Athletics went 49-105 the year he turned 80, in 1943.
Maybe the Marlins should rethink this idea.
