MLB TV Schedule, 6/24: Phillies/Athletics, Nationals/White Sox

Interleague play continues this weekend with some non-marquee matchups. We won’t be talking about those here, though. Here are some of the best games for your Friday evening viewing. All times Eastern.

7 p.m., NESN, ROOT Sports Pittsburgh: Red Sox at Pirates. Last year this would have been a mismatch. This year, not so much. The Pirates are at .500 and have a shot at a winning season. Boston should not take them for granted.

↵↵

7 p.m., MLB Network, CSN Philadelphia, CSN California: Athletics at Phillies. I almost typed "Raiders"; "Oakland at Philadelphia" sounds like an NFL game. MLB Network viewers in the Bay Area and Philadelphia will see the Rockies at the Yankees.

↵↵

8 p.m., WGN, FSN Kansas City: Cubs at Royals. The teams played every year from 1998 through 2001 when the divisions played each other's match in the other league. But they have not met since. This game is listed only because it's on a national channel, WGN.

↵↵

8 p.m., MASN, CSN Chicago: Nationals at White Sox. John McLaren makes his debut as interim manager of the Nats. He's making a career out of this "interim" thing. The Nats are hot -- can they continue their streak?
