Framing Pitches Actually Matters?

Recalculating the run contribution due to framing skills considering the separate ratings (by side of the plate and batter handedness), we get that the top catchers (Jose Molina, David Ross and ... Russell Martin) are worth eight/nine runs per 130 games.

↵I used to think framing pitches was a myth, but lately I’ve been coming around.
