Mainz 05 Signs Anthony Ujah From Lillestrom

Mainz 05 have announced the signing of forward Anthony Ujah from Lillestrom. He has been signed to a four year contract and the terms of the agreement were not released.

Ujah, 20, joined the Norwegian club in March 2010 and has not stopped scoring. He scored a remarkable 32 goals in 45 matches in the last 15 months, and now he will look to continue scoring goals against the much higher competition that the German Bundesliga will deliver week in and week out.

With André Schürrle and Sami Allagui having cemented their roles in the Mainz offense, Ujah will be coming in fighting for minutes during the summer and early part of the season. Schürrle and Allagui scored 15 and 10 goals respectively for the Bundesliga side last season, but the remaining forwards on the roster combined for only 8 goals.

Ujah has yet to receive an international cap for his country. He was recently called up to the Nigerian U-23 side, but he was forced to miss the matches due to a back injury.
