Dwayne Roloson Reportedly Re-Signs With Tampa Bay Lightning

Dwayne Roloson has reportedly re-signed with the Tampa Bay Lightning. The deal is reportedly for one year and $3 million, according to Ryan Rishaug of TSN. The goaltender came to the Lightning back in January in a trade with the New York Islanders and made his mark in the playoffs after a somewhat up and down regular season where he largely split time with Mike Smith.

After compiling a middling .914 save percentage and 2.59 goals against average during the regular season, the 41-year-old improved to .924 and 2.51 in the playoffs while helping the Lighting reach the Eastern Conference semifinals. Although they eventually lost in seven games to eventual the Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins, he allowed just one goal in the Game 7 loss.

Roloson's best years are well behind him at this point, as he's never come close to replicating the success he had with the Minnesota Wild from 2002-04. But he clearly became the No. 1 goaltender during the playoffs and Smith never really showed any sustained success.
