Regional play is wrapping up in the NCAA Baseball Tournament, and the latest batch of college baseball scores is setting up a slew of big-name rematches in regional action.
NCAA Tournament, College Baseball Scores: Alabama, Miami Survive
Third-seeded Alabama eliminated second-seeded UCF in the Tallahassee Regional, pummeling the Knights 12-5 with a four-run first inning and a six-run seventh. The Crimson Tide move on to play national seed Florida State, and need two wins over the Seminoles to advance. Florida State has already defeated ‘Bama once, rallying for a 9-5 win on Saturday.
In the Gainesville Regional, Miami needed to rally back to beat Jacksonville on Sunday. The Hurricanes took down the Dolphins, 6-3, but trailed 2-0 after the first inning, and 3-0 in the eighth, before scoring all six of their runs in the final two frames. Miami must now beat No. 2 national seed Florida twice to advance.
Elsewhere, East Carolina beat St. John’s, 6-4, to set up a rematch with Virginia in the Charlottesville Regional, and James Madison eliminated Maine in the Chapel Hill Regional.
