NCAA Baseball Regionals 2011, Score Update: Florida State, Texas Advance

Three of today’s regional elimination games have been played in the 2011 NCAA Baseball Tournament, with Texas, Florida State, and South Carolina advancing to the Super Regionals.

Due to the fact that most college baseball teams only have four true starting pitchers, with that fourth starter usually being of questionable quality compared to the top of the rotation, the teams in action today have had to get creative with their bullpens and pitching strategies. Kent State’s Ryan Mace had the longest outing of the day - 5.1 innings in a losing effort. One might thing this would make for wild games, but none of the first three games have been terribly exciting, with the favorites taking all three in convincing fashion.
