Jake Peavy Injury: White Sox Righty Expects DL Move

White Sox starter Jake Peavy sustained a groin injury during his start against the Tigers on Sunday. He was sent for an MRI on Monday, and the exam revealed a mild strain. The White Sox said that they would take things day-to-day, but Peavy is a man of his opinions, and so naturally he's got an opinion on this. Mark Gonzales:

Peavy thinks he's destined for DL

And he should know.

Peavy is currently feeling a lot of discomfort. The White Sox haven’t made a move yet, but it certainly seems like they’re going to. They’re definitely not going to let Peavy make his next scheduled start.

Fortunately for the White Sox, they have plenty of starting arms, this being the team that’s actually been going with a six-man rotation in recent weeks. If Peavy does go on the DL, they’ll simply shift to the standard five-man turn until he’s all better.
