Andrew Ranger wins NASCAR Canadian Tire Series race on Toronto Indy Circuit

Andrew Ranger came out and dominated the race on Saturday, although he didn’t have the pole Ranger still started the race in P2.

“My plan was just follow (Bowles) as long as I could to save my car for later in the race,” said Ranger. “The track is pretty bumpy and it was slick at first. I wanted to take care of the tires and I knew it would get a little crazy at the end.”

As it turns out, Ranger didn’t have to pass pole sitter Bowles for the lead as he was given the lead just 9 laps into the race as Bowles’ engine imploded.

Ranger lead the rest of the Toronto 100 virtually unchallenged, winning by a one second margin over second place finisher Scott Steckly. Don’t let that time fool you though as Ranger had a three second lead over Steckly before a late race caution bunched the field pushing the race into ‘over-drive’ which added two laps to the 35 lap event.
