Anthony Oden Arrested For Litany Of Charges After DUI Stop

In the latest sad chapter for the Oden family, Arkansas offensive lineman Anthony Oden was arrested by Fayetteville police Saturday morning and charged with a wide-array of offenses, including driving while intoxicated, possession of a controlled substance, driving left of the center line, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, driving without proof of ownership, driving on a suspended or revoked driver's license, and driving without a driver's license. It is the second time within the past year that Oden -- the younger brother of embattled number one NBA draft pick Greg Oden -- was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

According to the arrest report, Oden was pulled over after crossing the center line and hitting a curb while making a turn at 1:48 a.m. Saturday. Oden did not pull over when the officer flashed his lights, according to the report, and did not immediately pull over when the officer initiated his siren.

Reports say that Oden had “bloodshot watery eyes” as he pulled over. The police also stated that the his vehicle contained “the odor of an intoxicating beverage”. The 21-year old narrowed failed a police issued field sobriety test, blowing a .09, just exceeding the state limit of .08. The illegal substance K2 was also found on his person after further searches.

Oden was released on $2,000 bail less than two hours after being booked into Washington County Detention Center the following morning. His court date has been set for August 1st, 2011.

Last season the offensive linemen was forced to miss the first game of the Razorbacks' season as a result of a similar transgression. University head coach Bobby Petrino has yet to comment on the situation.
