Bronco Mendenhall Gets BYU Football Contract Extension
Brigham Young University has inked head football coach Bronco Mendenhall to a three-year contract extension.
Mendenhall has been the Cougars' head coach since 2005, leading BYU to a 56-21 record and a bowl appearance in each of his six seasons. His Cougars also won the Mountain West Conference championship in 2006 and 2007.
"Bronco is an incredible leader and one of the best coaches in the country," athletic director Tom Holmoe said. "He is committed to the program and we are committed to him as the leader of our football team. Bronco is loyal to this team and the university and does things the right way on and off the field. We are excited for the future as we begin our journey as an independent."
BYU went 7-6 with a victory in the New Mexico Bowl in 2010, when it was still a member of the Mountain West.
