Jose Bautista Injury: Slugger Day-To-Day With Twisted Ankle
Bautista went down after sliding into third base, but he actually initially tweaked his ankle running to first. Sliding into third just put things over the top, as he twisted the ankle and had to come out. I suppose we could’ve guessed from the fact that he walked off on his own that nothing was too bad, but it’s nice to have confirmation.
Bautista probably won’t play on Friday, and given that the Jays are presently ten games behind the Yankees, they have little reason to rush their star back before he’s ready, but it shouldn’t be long before he’s right back in the middle of the order, restoring imbalance.

Bautista immediately grabbed at the ankle and went to the ground. After being paid a lengthy visit by the trainers, Bautista walked off under his own power, but didn’t return to the game for the fifth.
