Sideline Scouting is one of the handful of NFL Draft sites worth checking out. The site provides smart, year-round analysis, something we try to do here at MtD.
Rock out with your mock draft out: Sideline Scouting
So it’s worth noting that SS relaunched last week in preparation for 2012 NFL Draft coverage. The site features a great new layout that doesn’t force the reader to scroll down to get a lot of information.
Also new is wire content on the NCAA and NFL, which is pretty nice. The site also added Draft Metrics writer Anthony Villoti and a new scouting report format. It’s all good stuff and worth checking out.
In addition, the site put up a new 2012 mock draft. Check it out here and some notes about it after the jump.
An interesting note on this mock is Seattle having the second overall pick. That will be an interesting dilemma for head coach Pete Carroll. Presumably the team would need a quarterback if they're drafting that high. Does Carroll go with Oklahoma's Landry Jones or personal favorite Matt Barkley of USC? Sideline Scouting goes with Barkley, which I tend to agree on.
In this scenario, Jones slips al the way to Oakland at pick No. 10. I would have likely had Buffalo taking Jones at pick nine. If Buffalo picks in the top 10 again in 2012, it’s hard to see them passing on a quarterback.
One surprise first round entrant is Alabama defensive tackle Kerry Murphy. The defensive tackle's future at Alabama is somewhat in question due to a knee injury. According to the SB Nation Alabama site Roll Bama Roll, Murphy may even get a medical redshirt this season.
Overall, though, it’s a pretty good mock. Check out Sideline Scouting here and let me know what you think of the site in the comments.
