With the NFL lockout coming to an end soon, undrafted players from the 2011 NFL Draft will finally be able to sign with teams. Over the next couple days we’ll look at some of the top available players your team may be considering. Today, the quarterbacks.
NFL lockout: Top UDFA’s at quarterback
Ben Chappell | 6'2, 242 pounds | Indiana
At times in 2010, Chappell put up big numbers for the Hoosiers. He is above-average across the board, but plays with a lot of toughness.
Pat Devlin | 6’4, 227 pounds | Delaware
No player saw their stock drop worse in the postseason as much as Devlin. He was exposed as having a bad arm and plying poorly in the face of the blitz. On game days he turns it on, but may struggle to get that chance.
A long, lanky QB with average accuracy and footwork. Hartline has a nice arm, but tends to throw off his back foot.
Tolzien is purely a game manager type of QB with below-average arm strength. Because of his height, Tolzien has some trouble at times seeing over the line. When he has a window in the short and middle areas, he’s an accurate passer.
Adam Weber | 6’1, 221 pounds | Minnesota
In this year’s draft, few quarterbacks had bette pure mechanics than Weber. He has a good but not great arm to make throws to all parts of the field. If he can improve his football IQ and make better decisions, Weber could develop into a real find.
