Arturo Vidal To Sign With Juventus

Bayer Leverkusen and Chile midfielder Arturo Vidal is on the verge of completing a switch to Serie A side Juventus, with only a medical currently preventing him from joining the Turin club. Vidal, in fact, is already talking about the move as though it's a done deal:

I'm happy, it's a big and important step for my career at one of the biggest clubs in Europe. I'm very content about this new opportunity that I'm being given. It's a new team which is being built with the aim of being champions and qualifying for international competitions. My experience in Germany will be useful to me in Italy because tactically it's a similar kind of football.

The total price Juventus are paying for the hard-working, versatile midfielder is believe to be in the realm of €10.5M plus add-ons, and he's expected to sign a five-year contract. He should easily slot into a midfield that's been weakened by the departure of Alberto Aquilani and the (expected) impending transfer of Felipe Melo. It's a little curious that Vidal would do this deal if he wanted to play Champions League football, especially with the likes of Arsenal already after his signature, but he will get a chance to start and undoubtedly thrive with Juventus.
