Kris Frost Surgery Could Sideline Auburn Freshman For 2011

The Auburn Tigers will be down a top recruit this fall as Kris Frost will undergo surgery on Tuesday to fix his right shoulder, which he reportedly hurt during a weightlifting session. He may have to redshirt for the 2011 season, according to reports, and pick up a fifth year of eligibility.

As the reports state, Frost has taken to Facebook and Twitter to express his disappointment over this development. He was hoping to have an impact his freshman year as part of the linebacker unit, but he’ll need to wait a year.

Frost announced his decision to attend Auburn (over the LSU Tigers and the Michigan Wolverines) during the U.S. Army All-American Game in January. At the time though, Auburn didn't have any more room to accept his commitment. Fortunately for Frost, Auburn was able to juggle some things around and accepted him several days later.
