Charles Johnson, Carolina Panthers Agree To Terms, According To Report

According to Pro Football Talk, Carolina Panthers pass rusher Charles Johnson has reportedly agreed to terms to remain a member of the Panthers.

The deal is reportedly for six years and $76 million with $30 million guaranteed. If so, Johnson’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, earned his 10 percent.

The 25-year-old was highly-sought by teams like the Atlanta Falcons and Denver Broncos, but he'll continue lining up against them rather than for them.

The 2007 third-round draft pick eclipsed most of his career totals in 2010. During his first three years, he had started just twice, making 52 tackles and registering 10 sacks. Last year, he started every game and responded with 62 combined tackles to lead a Panthers defense that was the only thing resembling a bright spot for a team that went 2-14 last year.

The Panthers can now turn their attention to free agent RB DeAngelo Williams.
