In the midst of the NFL free agency bonanza, draft picks are beginning to come to terms with teams, albeit slowly. With the rookie wage scale put into effect in the new collective bargaining agreement, the process of signing draft picks should be accelerated significantly, but first round picks are typically the last to come to agreements, with some even holding out under the previous CBA. Someone had to break the ice this year, and it was Tampa Bay Buccaneers first round pick Adrian Clayborn.
Adrian Clayborn Agrees To Terms With Tampa Bay Buccaneers, According To Report
Adam Schefter tweets that Clayborn has become the first 2011 NFL first-round draft pick to agree to an NFL contract, coming to terms with the Buccaneers late Tuesday night.
DE Adrian Clayborn became first 1st-round pk under new labor deal to reach agreement on new deal. Blake Baratz and Bucs just finished deal.
The Buccaneers selected Clayborn out of Iowa with the 20th pick in the draft. Clayborn was one of eight defensive ends drafted in the first round, in what was considered an excellent year for the position.
