It's now a three-man battle in Washington. According to the latest reports, the Washington Redskins have agreed to terms with QB Kellen Clemens. Like all deals being reported now, it won't become official until Friday at 6:00 p.m. (ET) when players are permitted to officially sign with teams.
Kellen Clemens Going To Washington Redskins, According To Report
Per the reports, it’s a one-year deal.
Clemens is coming from the Jets where he played last year on a restricted free agent tender. As shown in HBO's Hard Knocks, he had to take a pay cut to stay in New York last season.
He'll join a quarterback battle that currently features QB John Beck and QB Rex Grossman. (QB Donovan McNabb is expected to be on his way out).
Clemens probably doesn’t have a legitimate shot at earning the starting job before Week 1 considering training camp starts this week and he’s just joining the team but he adds depth to a team that needs quarterback options.
