Will Herring, Saints Agree On Contract, Says Agent

Free agent linebacker Will Herring has agreed to a three-year contract with the New Orleans Saints, according to his agent George Mavrikes. Terms of the deal have yet to be revealed.

Herring comes from the Seattle Seahawks after a four-year stint there. He played as a reserve for the Seahawks, but he will compete for a starting spot at outside linebacker for the Saints.

He was reportedly also pursued by the Chicago Bears, the Tennessee Titans and the Seahawks, but presumably the Saints were the only team that could promise him a chance at becoming a starter.

Wilson was a fifth-round draft pick out of Auburn in 2007 after converting to linebacker his senior season. Now he’s back in his old stomping grounds in the South.
