The Buffalo Bills could have a pretty exciting offense in the 2011-12 season.
Brad Smith Joins Buffalo Bills On Four-Year Deal, According To Report
Seriously.
The Bills have agreed to terms on a four-year deal with former New York jets WR Brad Smith. Per Adam Schefter, it's worth $15 million.
It's hard to gauge what Smith's value is. He returns kicks as well so with the new kickoff rules his value be hurt a little bit there. However, with the elimination of the third quarterback rule, the Bills could keep Smith active (along with QB Ryan Fitzpatrick and QB Tyler Thigpen) for some wildcat action.
The Bills already have CJ Spiller at running back so this is a little more explosion. Head coach Chan Gailey is very creative on offense so I’m looking forward to seeing what Smith can do in Buffalo, as are the folks at Buffalo Rumblings.
Smith is a player that Chan Gailey can build entire offensive sub-packages around; he's done it before with his "Slash" concept for Kordell Stewart, and Smith has the same capabilities. Under Gailey, Buffalo is committing to a spread system - perhaps with an emphasis on Pistol formations - and Smith adds another dimension to the spread system.
