Clint Session will be switching teams within the AFC South: reportedly, he's agreed to a deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and will be leaving the Indianapolis Colts for greener pastures.
Clint Session Agrees To Five-Year Deal With Jacksonville Jaguars, According To Report
Session's deal is for five years and $30 million, according to Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network. He'll join Paul Posluszny, who the Jaguars signed earlier in the week, in Jack Del Rio's 4-3 scheme.
Session has been one of the Colts’ best linebackers when healthy: in 2008 and 2009, he recorded a combined 197 tackles, with 103 of those coming in his 14 starts in 2009. But Session was hurt in 2010, and played just five games, recording 38 tackles, before suffering a broken right arm that all but ended his 2010 season.
While the signing certainly improves Jacksonville's linebacking corps, taking one of the Colts' more consistent performers may make it doubly effective for the Jaguars.
