MLB TV Schedule, 7/29: Pirates/Phillies, Red Sox/White Sox

There are contender vs. contender matchups tonight... as well as some apparent mismatches. All times Eastern.

7 p.m., MLB Network, CSN Philadelphia, ROOT Sports Pittsburgh: Pirates at Phillies. You know you've arrived as a contender when MLB Network picks up your game. MLBN viewers in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia will see Giants/Reds.

7 p.m., FSN West, FSN Detroit: Angels at Tigers. The Angels' win yesterday tightened up two division races. What more can you ask for?

8 p.m., NESN, CSN Chicago: Red Sox at White Sox. The Pale Hose look better lately. Every time they've done that this year, they've gone on a losing streak. The team with the best record in the AL comes to Chicago this weekend. One thing is for sure: a team named "Sox" will win.

8 p.m., WGN, FSN Midwest: Cubs at Cardinals. Two years ago at this time, the Cubs surpassed the Cardinals into first place in the NL Central. Now? Two teams going in opposite directions. Edwin Jackson makes his Cardinals debut.

10 p.m., FSN North, CSN California: Twins at Athletics. Minnesota is just six games out of first place in the AL Central.
