No. 3 Pick Marcell Dareus, Buffalo Bills Agree To Terms
Players are getting less money with the new rookie wage scale limiting the amount teams can pay them but it appears the minor loophole involved is guaranteeing a large portion of the deals. As Buffalo Rumblings notes, the new way of paying rookies is resulting in less holdouts.
For reference, last year’s first-round pick C.J. Spiller signed his contract on August 6th after missing more than a week of training camp. Aaron Maybinmissed all of training camp after holding out until August 21st in 2009.
Dareus enters Buffalo to try and shore up a defense that ranked 32nd against the rush giving up nearly 170 yards per game. That’s goal number one for the moment.
