The story all along with Dodgers starter Hiroki Kuroda has been his no-trade clause, and his reluctance to leave Los Angeles. Kuroda has the power to nix any trade, and for a while it felt like he was going to stay put. But with the deadline rapidly approaching, the story may be changing. Gordon Edes:
MLB Trade Rumors: Hiroki Kuroda Open-Minded About Move
Kuroda has indicated to Dodgers that he is open to deals w/Texas, Bos, and NYY. Texas has been pushing hard
"Open" doesn't necessarily mean that Kuroda would accept a trade, but it means he might be willing to accept a trade, which is something. It's enough to keep teams calling, and with Doug Fister and Jason Marquis off the board, there are fewer available starters than there were at this time Friday. Kuroda's ability makes him greatly appealing, and we could see something soon.
Because Kuroda is a free agent after the season, he could re-sign with the Dodgers in November if he wanted. So accepting a trade doesn’t mean he’d be away from Los Angeles for long.
