Pitching for the Chicago Cubs – today, right now – is Ramon Ortiz. Ortiz is 38 years old and bad now, but pitching for the Angels in 2002, he posted a 118 ERA+ over 32 starts. Over those 32 starts, he also allowed 40 home runs, or 1.66 per nine innings. That stands as the highest home run rate for a starting pitcher with an ERA+ over 110 in baseball history. Math!
