Jeter is the only player who went 5-5 on the day he got his 3,000th hit: The closest to Jeter include Craig Biggio (who went 5-6) and George Brett and Tony Gwynn (who each went 4-4).
Jeter is the first member of the Yankees to reach 3,000 hits: Of course, this means players who have played their whole career with the Yankees, not players who have played at one point for the Yankees.
Jeter’s only had three other five-hit games in his career: This was the first against a good pitcher.
