MLB TV Schedule, 8/1: Yankees/White Sox, Cardinals/Brewers

The trading deadline has passed and the calendar has turned -- that means it’s time for key playoff race matchups. All times Eastern.

7 p.m., ESPN, NESN, STO: Indians at Red Sox. The Tribe is hanging in there, 2.5 games behind the Tigers, but they have a losing road record and the Red Sox the best home record in the AL. This may not end well for the visitors.

7 p.m., YES Network, CSN Chicago: Yankees at White Sox. The reverse is true of this matchup; the White Sox are only 24-28 at home, while the visitors have a 27-20 road record. Former Cy Young winners CC Sabathia and Jake Peavy face each other.

8 p.m., FSN Wisconsin, FSN Midwest: Cardinals at Brewers. Speaking of home records, the Brewers' is nuts: 39-14. The Cardinals, though, hold their own on the road at 28-27. Here's a series preview from Baseball Nation's Rob Neyer.

10 p.m., FSN Arizona, CSN Bay Area: Diamondbacks at Giants. If Arizona is to make their move toward the top of the NL West, now's the time; they're two games out entering this series with division-leading San Francisco.
