According to Bob Dutton, the Royals are promoting 21-year-old catcher Salvador Perez to the majors, which essentially completes this season's youth movement. Perez, clearly the organization's Catcher of the Future, joins rookie first baseman Eric Hosmer, rookie second baseman Johnny Giavotella, and rookie third baseman Mike Moustakas.

With Alcides Escobar at shortstop, Alex Gordon in left field, and -- next season, presumably -- Lorenzo Cain in center field, the Royals just have to sign Frenchy to an eight-year contract extension and the lineup will be set for a while.
