Fight Country For Old Men

Wednesday night in Chico, California, a brawl broke out during the independent North American Baseball League game between the Chico Outlaws (seems appropriate) and the Yuma Scorpions.

↵Yuma’s manager is the oft-troubled Jose Canseco, so you might think he was to blame. Not so; the fight was started by Yuma’s third baseman, Tony Phillips.

↵

That would be this Tony Phillips, who played 18 MLB seasons but retired after 1999. Phillips is 52 years old.

↵Assault charges are being considered. Perhaps retired players should, you know, stay retired. You can see video of the brawl here.
