Tonight, MLB Network shows us the Cardinals, fading into the distance. All times Eastern.
MLB TV Schedule, 8/11 Night Games: Brewers/Cardinals, White Sox/Orioles
7 p.m., CSN Chicago, MASN: White Sox at Orioles. The story of the White Sox' season: they creep toward the .500 mark, then fall back. Tonight, Mark Buehrle faces Baltimore's Chris Tillman.
7 p.m., FSN Detroit, STO: Tigers at Indians. Every time Justin Verlander pitches, something special could happen. That alone makes this game worth watching. Cleveland trails Detroit by just two games in the AL Central.
8 p.m., MLB Network, FSN Midwest, FSN Wisconsin: Brewers at Cardinals. If Milwaukee wins, St. Louis will trail by six games in the NL Central. The Cardinals are even farther behind in the wild-card race (6.5 games), so for them, these games are approaching "must-win". MLBN viewers in Milwaukee and St. Louis will see Tigers/Indians at 6 p.m. CT.
9:40 p.m., FSN Arizona, FSN Houston: Astros at Diamondbacks. That's the first-place Arizona Diamondbacks. Raise your hand if you expected this before the season started. (No one did.) Houston is 41 games under .500 for the first time in franchise history.
