Nobody seems to know what's up with Philadelphia Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin. He's missed all of Eagles training camp to this point with an "undisclosed illness". He's already shot down reports that this illness could be career threatening and head coach Andy Reid expressed optimism last week that he would be ready for the preseason.

Maclin’s next step is to his hometown of St. Louis for further testing.
Making the story a little more interesting is that the Eagles just signed WR Steve Smith to a one-year contract. It makes you wonder if they did this because it was a good deal or if this was Maclin insurance.
Despite the situation with Maclin, the Eagles offseason has been productive signing a handful of stars to big contracts. They’ve catapulted themselves into the discussion of the best team on paper. We’ll see if Maclin is along for the ride.
