Ervin Santana Is On Some Kind Of Run

Ervin Santana went the distance against the Blue Jays Friday night, striking out six and allowing only one run, on an Eric Thames solo homer in the ninth. It was the fifth consecutive start in which Santana has allowed one run while throwing at least seven innings, and he lowered his ERA to 3.10.

↵CC Sabathia, Jered Weaver and Cliff Lee have also had five-start streaks this season in which they allowed zero or one run over 7+ innings. Justin Verlander, though, strung together seven such starts, between June 9 and July 10.
