It’s been a rough couple of days for CC Sabathia’s Cy Young candidacy.

To win, Sabathia probably has to lead the American League in wins and keep his ERA reasonably close to Jered Weaver's (assuming Weaver doesn't blow up).

Well, Thursday night Justin Verlander won his 17th, taking the league lead. Friday night, Sabathia failed to match Verlander and gave up five runs -- on five solo home runs, no less -- against the Rays. His ERA now stands at 2.93, more than a run higher than Weaver's 1.78. It's slipping away...
