It’s 1-1 now at Anfield – and it’s courtesy of an absolutely superb goal from Sebastian Larsson. Sunderland have been much-improved this half, and have looked particularly dangerous from crosses. Not long after Asamoah Gyan headed a great chance straight at Reina, Ahmen Elmohamaddy takes advantage of Liverpool’s disorganisation on the right flank to send in a beautiful cross. Larsson meets it at the back post with a gloriously precise scissored-volley which curls past Reina and into the far side of the goal. Game on at Anfield.
Liverpool Vs. Sunderland - Larsson equalises with superb volley
Liverpool have shown some weaknesses this half – they haven’t defended well on the flanks at all, and with Richardson, Elmohamaddy, and Larsson, they simply cannot afford to let Sunderland put crosses into the box. It looks like Dalglish may be addressing just that – Henderson is removed for Dirk Kuyt, who should help to guard Liverpool’s right flank. First change of the day, and an interesting game developing here.
