Friday night, Twins infielder Alexi Casilla returned from a hamstring injury that had forced him to the disabled list. Then he tried to leg out an infield grounder and aggravated the injury, so, give us the news, Associated Press:
Alexi Casilla Injury: Twins Infielder Re-Injures Hamstring, Placed On DL
The Minnesota Twins put infielder Alexi Casilla back on the disabled list Saturday with a strained right hamstring.
Manager Ron Gardenhire said Casilla had difficulty running when he tested his legs before the Twins played the Cleveland Indians.
Casilla could miss the minimum amount of time, but for him, this is still an irritating setback. On the season he owns a .260/.322/.368 batting line, and a .777 OPS since May 24.
With Casilla out, the Twins will give the majority of the looks at second base to Matt Tolbert. The team will also recall infielder Trevor Plouffe from triple-A before its game on Sunday. At 52-67, the Twins have faded from whatever contention they were once in, so all in all, whatever.
