Remember when Real Madrid was controlling this Spanish Supercup game? Those were fun times. As we reach halftime, FC Barcelona has taken firm command of this game with two goals in the final 10 minutes of the half. Barcelona now leads 2-1 thanks to the work of Lionel Messi and David Villa.
Real Madrid Vs. Barcelona, Spanish Supercup Score: David Villa, Lionel Messi Give Barcelona Advantage
First, Villa scored in the 36th minute to level the score. Messi found him outside the box and Villa unleashed one of his patented right-footed strikes past Iker Casillas and into the back of the net. Then, with the half winding down, Messi somehow got away from three Madrid defenders and scored a left-footed strike to give Barcelona the lead. It was an unbelievable goal and one we expect to see often from Messi.
The two goals have to be demoralizing for Real Madrid after they led for so much of the first half. Alas, that is what Barcelona is always capable of doing.
