After a wild start to today’s Watkins Glen NASCAR race, the action has settled down for now as the drivers have just completed lap 20 of 90.
Live NASCAR Watkins Glen Update: Kyle Busch Leads At Lap 20
Kyle Busch currently leads the race, but he hasn’t made his pit stop yet; most other drivers have. Race favorite Marcos Ambrose led for awhile, but had some help from Kurt Busch to get the lead.
Ambrose’s teammate, AJ Allmendinger, immediately took the lead from pole-sitter Kyle Busch at the start of the race. Busch’s brother, Kurt, spun himself out while trying to pass Dale Earnhardt Jr. and had to make a pit stop for flat tires.
When Busch came back onto the track, he was in between leader Allmendinger and Ambrose. But when Busch drove into a corner harder than Allmendinger, the lapped No. 22 car booted the race leader and sent him through the grass.
That allowed Ambrose to take the lead while an infuriated Allmendinger vowed payback on his team radio.
