Police want to interview Kobe Bryant after a man claimed the Los Angeles Lakers' star grabbed his phone from him during a church service in San Diego on Sunday.
Alleged Church Altercation Involving Kobe Bryant Draws Police Attention
The Los Angeles Times reports that San Diego police are looking to speak with all people involved in the alleged altercation and any witnesses. A man went to a local hospital on Sunday complaining of wrist pain. He told police investigators that during service at St. Therese of Carmel in the Carmel Valley neighborhood of San Diego the Lakers star approached him and grabbed a cell phone out of the man’s hand. Bryant had apparently believed that the man was taking photos of Kobe and his family during service.
The Times reports that the man says the former NBA MVP found no photos on the phone, returned the device to the man and left the church before service had ended.
Kobe has recently visited the Phillipines and China for exhibition games and appeared at a charity soccer match in Washington, D.C. He is reportedly considering playing overseas during the NBA lockout.
