WR Plaxico Burress is back in New York Jets practice after missing much of training camp with an ankle injury. He appears to be moving well with few if any limitations, according to reports.
Plaxico Burress Is Back At Jets Training Camp After Ankle Injury
The season doesn’t start for several weeks so Burress has some time to get healthy but, after missing football the last two-plus years, he probably needs as much live action as he can get. We knew there would be an adjustment period for him even without this initial injury.
The Jets have a number of receivers who need to get the ball including WR Santonio Holmes and WR Derrick Mason, who Rex Ryan suggested could have a productive season in New York. With the competition there, Burress has something to prove on the field over the few weeks to see playing time.
Burress missed the Jets first preseason game against the Houston Texans with this ankle injury and Rex Ryan says he isn't sure yet whether Burress will play in Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
