Jeremy Maclin has missed all of training camp, undergoing testing for illnesses ranging from AIDS to leukemia to lymphoma. He told FOX Sports' Jay Glazer that all of the test results came back negative, and now Maclin has been O.K.'d to join the Philadelphia Eagles within the next 7-10 days.
Jeremy Maclin Cleared To Work Out, Will Join Eagles Training Camp In 7-10 Days
What exactly was wrong with Maclin is still unknown. Eagles trainer Rick Burkholder said that all symptoms are gone, and that Maclin is back up to his normal weight. Burkholder felt "pretty safe" in saying that Maclin would be able to play in the team's opener on Sept. 11 against the St. Louis Rams. Maclin should be able to rejoin the team this weekend for rehab, before joining the team full time assuming there are no setbacks, Burkholder said.
Hopefully this is the last time we have to hear "Maclin" and "illness" in the same sentence. Should he come back to the team fully healthy, the Eagles will feature a formidable receiving corps with the addition of Steve Smith and DeSean Jackson back in tow.
