Joe Mauer is starting in right field. That same sentence is in the headline, but it’s worth typing again in case you think this is some sort of jape. It is not.

↵The best part is that this is happening partially because the Twins have a completely empty bench. Jason Kubel is tending to family issues. Denard Span is hurt, and likely to go on the DL. Matt Tolbert’s wrist is hurt. Luke Hughes missed his flight.

↵It’s never appropriate to wish for an injury, but we’re just a turned ankle away from Carl Pavano playing left field. Keep your fingers crossed ...
