Washington Nationals uber-prospect Bryce Harper has had an eventful season. Earlier this year he blew kisses at an opposing pitcher during a home-run trot -- not something that will make you a lot of friends in the game.
Bryce Harper Injury: Nationals Prospect Hurts Hamstring

Thursday night in Akron, Harper, now playing for Double-A Harrisburg, suffered a hamstring injury:
Harper, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 draft, was injured running to third base in the eighth inning and was replaced by a pinch runner.Bill Ladson of MLB.com reports that Harper will likely be placed on the seven-day disabled list. However, with the minor league season ending in a little over two weeks, Byron Kerr of MASN has another suggestion:
The Nationals could decide to shut Harper down for the season if they deem the injury to be serious. The Senators have 18 games remaining on the regular season schedule. Harrisburg is also in a dog fight in the western division for a playoff berth, leading Bowie by two games at 70-54.
The 2011 Arizona fall league opening game for the Scottsdale Scorpions is Oct. 4. If they want Harper to play for Scottsdale again, that would give him at least 45 days before his next game. Harper played in nine games in last year’s AFL and hit .343 (12-for-35) with a .410 OBP. Rosters for this year’s AFL will be announced around the end of August. So far in the minor leagues this season, Harper is hitting .297/.391/.503 with 17 HR and 58 RBI in 384 at-bats.
