Ryan Williams Injury: Arizona Cardinals Rookie Carted Off With Knee Injury

Arizona Cardinals rookie Ryan Williams was carted off the field in the third quarter after suffering an apparent right knee injury on his first carry of the game. Williams looked to be in a significant bit of pain, staying down on the turf as trainers rushed to attend to him. After staying on the ground, Williams was taken off the field on a cart, with a disappointed look on his face and his head in his hands.

According to reports, Williams will not return and is being taken for further evaluation. While the extent of his injury is not yet know, many are speculating it may be serious (via Cards Chatter on Twitter).

RB Ryan Williams down after that carry. Looking at right leg/knee. Whole team over to see Williams off the field. That’s never a good sign. Williams head down as he goes off. Another not-good sign. Officially, RB Ryan Williams will not return with a rgt knee injury.

Williams is expected to be a significant contributor for the Cardinals, both now and in the future. As it stands, Beanie Wells would likely be the feature back if Williams' injury keeps him out of action for a lengthy period of time.

We’ll have more on Williams’ injury as it becomes available. For the latest of Williams and the Cards, head over to SB Nation Arizona and Revenge of the Birds.
