MLB TV Schedule, 8/2: Rangers/Tigers, Diamondbacks/Giants

Some division races are tightening up -- others are turning into possible runaways. More important matchups for playoff-hoping teams tonight. All times Eastern.

7 p.m., FSN Southwest, FSN Detroit: Rangers at Tigers. This matchup of first-place teams has Colby Lewis pitching against Max Scherzer.

7 p.m., STO, NESN: Indians at Red Sox. The Tribe tries to hang in there, starting the evening two games behind Detroit.

8 p.m., FSN Midwest, FSN Wisconsin: Cardinals at Brewers. The Brewers try to keep their amazing home record (now 40-14) going; they shoot for their eighth win in a row tonight.

8:40 p.m., CSN Philadelphia, ROOT Sports Denver: Phillies at Rockies. The Phillies are starting to run away with the NL East, now seven games up on the Braves. Kyle Kendrick takes the mound at Coors Field tonight against Aaron Cook.

10 p.m., FSN Arizona, CSN Bay Area: Diamondbacks at Giants. A win tonight for Arizona, and they'd be in a first-place tie with San Francisco. Tim Lincecum will try to prevent that, against Daniel Hudson.
